Coolant Heater / Jacket Water Heater
For Cummins Diesel Generator Set Cooling System (Low-temperature regions below 0°C)
Cummins heaters provide a robust solution for cold starts by preheating the engine oil and coolant of diesel generator sets. This reduces engine wear and improves fuel efficiency by minimizing idle time. The benefits extend beyond immediate convenience, offering lasting protection for your battery and starter motor. Heaters are especially critical for diesel engines because they require higher temperatures than gasoline engines for fuel combustion. In addition to reducing engine wear, diesel engine heaters can also mitigate excessive fuel consumption and lower harmful emissions.

Installation Steps
For users installing the heater for the first time, after following the installation manual instructions, please ensure the heater chamber is completely filled with coolant before powering on. Operating the heater without coolant or with an insufficient amount will cause dry firing and damage the heater.
● Before installing the heater, confirm the installation location and the positions of the engine's coolant inlet and outlet ports. The engine's outlet port (relative to the heater) should be at the lowest point of the engine's coolant system. The engine's inlet port (relative to the heater) should be positioned higher than the engine's outlet port.
● The heater's inlet port must be installed horizontally relative to the engine's outlet port. The heater's outlet port must be installed vertically relative to the engine's inlet port to ensure smooth coolant circulation during heater operation. It is strictly prohibited for the heater's inlet port to be positioned higher than its outlet port!
● It is strongly recommended to add rubber vibration damping pads between the heater and the mounting bracket. It is strictly prohibited to mount the heater directly onto the engine block!
● Hose selection: The heater's inlet/outlet port diameter is Φ25.4mm. Use connection hoses with an inner diameter of Φ25.4mm to match. Hose material is recommended to be weather-resistant EPDM rubber, which can effectively isolate engine vibration.
● When installing hoses, it is recommended to install two shut-off valves in the middle of the inlet and outlet hoses to facilitate maintenance and repair of the engine or heater.
● Filling with coolant: First, connect the hose from the engine to the heater's inlet port. Then, connect the hose to the heater's outlet port, but do NOT yet connect the other end of this hose to the engine's inlet port. Begin filling the system with coolant. Wait until the coolant level reaches the same height as both the engine's inlet port and the open end of the heater's outlet hose. Only then, connect the heater's outlet hose to the engine's inlet port, and continue filling until the system is full. These steps are to thoroughly purge air from the heater and hoses, preventing dry or partial dry firing that can damage the heater. In some cases, positioning the heater's outlet port slightly higher than its inlet port can help eliminate air bubbles.
● Cummins generator set manufacturers have provided red, green, and black power cables, and the internal wiring of the heater is already connected. Connect the red and green cables to a single-phase 220V power supply. Connect the black cable to ground (earth).
