Engine Oil Heater
Controls lubricating oil temperature to facilitate cold starts
The Cummins engine oil heater is a high-efficiency preheating device specifically designed for Cummins diesel engines. It aims to raise the oil temperature during cold starts, thereby reducing engine wear and extending its service life. Through gentle and even heating, it ensures the oil reaches a suitable operating temperature before startup, improving the starting performance and fuel efficiency of Cummins generator sets.

The lubricating oil heater screws into the engine's oil pan to maintain oil temperature. At low temperatures, oil becomes very viscous and may fail to protect engine components. At startup, it supplies warm oil to the engine's critical wear points. This reduces engine wear and makes starting easier, thereby extending lifespan. Heaters are available in various AC voltages as well as 12V and 24V DC, with power ratings ranging from 75 to 500 watts. For heating engine oil (medium viscosity), Cummins recommends using a low-watt-density heater.
